Map the missing buildings in Ottawa using imagery, and merge with addresses. The City of Ottawa building import included almost all existing urban buildings, but missed many rural buildings. It also missed buildings too new to be included in the dataset.

Map those buildings, and tag the buildings with addresses from the pre-existing address nodes.

When saving your work, please leave the default comment but add what you actually mapped, for example "added buildings and a residential road".

  1. Use aerial/satellite imagery to trace building footprints in the City of Ottawa, for buildings not already imported/mapped. Usually Bing is the best, but Digital Globe Premium seems to be the most recent, and other sources are occasionally better.

  2. Copy the addresses of newly mapped buildings from the nearest address node (usually this is obvious, if not don't copy).

  3. Trace long driveways if needed.
