General Instructions
Draw a line and label all the sidewalks in Edmonton as highway=footway
Advice from yaro of OSMCanada:
Ensure that sidewalks are connected to roadways
Avoid connecting sidewalks to anything else, like landuse, buildings, address interpolations
This is so that routing can be provided.
More information on how to map sidewalks here
If it is a shared used pathway (clear signs specifying shared use), add bicycle=yes
More information on bicycle and sidewalks here
If a crosswalk is present (click on the way
(road)) and add a node as highway=crossing
Crosswalks that have no lights or markings should be additionally tagged as crossing=unmarked
More information on how to map crosswalks here
Does the sidewalk fit a small crowd?
Use highway=pedestrian
